Let me be just honest. Your comments, your recommendations, your warnings , your pros and contras – all comes over very serious. You are the most serious tester for DJI on YouTube. Thank you for each video. And with the time I understand your high speed of speaking English. Thank you very much again.

HI Ian! do you think DJI will certify the new mavic Pro 3 when it comes out? so it doesnt become a legacy product? Im not sure whether to hold out or buy the Air 2?

The Mavic Air 2 is awesome, but as a photographer I’d love it to have a better sensor for stills. Looking forward to the Mavic 3 Pro.

Hi, I am new to the channel here , I literally just got my M2P the other day and iโ€™ve only flew it a couple of times close by to get used to it but iโ€™m terrified of flying the thing in case it falls out the sky somehow. Iโ€™ve never had such a fancy piece of tech, any tips to have more confidence?

You might get some people mention about Castle stalker is a no fly zone. There are signs up across from the castle (at the tree as you come entrance of the beach). Saw it last time I was there but not sure how they think they can enforce it if you take off anywhere else you won’t know of the signs. I took my drone but one I saw it I didn’t use it.

Ian – id love on the video at the end with your shots if you could add which drones each of these were filmed with! But another great video – thank you!

If you are flying with it, size is everything. Mavic mini. My wife and I flew from the US to England for a 10 day road trip in 2018. We spent a few days in Isle of Skye in 2018. We loved it there. It was our favorite part of the trip. Wish we had our Mavic Mini for that trip…

My question is regarding the Mavic mini and the Mavic air 2,: Is it very important which telephone android or iPhone are use for one of these two drones. Does the telephone has influence on the quality of the flight in connection with being good connected during the flight or not?

  26. Harrison Brown on December 26, 2020 at 10:53 pm

Scotland must be the best landscape to drone! If only drones could fly in the rain haha. I managed to get mine out in the Isle of Skye and got some incredible shots.

  27. Geekgirl87 on December 26, 2020 at 10:53 pm

I’ve been to Scotland twice with my drone and have never regretted it. My biggest problem is coming from down under so for me two big issues. First is being able to take it on the plane which is not really a problem but does impact on the amount of luggage I can take even in business class. Second is, I don’t get to spend a lot of time in any one place so I need to make sure the mission I take is a good one. Well planned and well executed, otherwise I have to enjoy yours. Nevertheless, I’m coming back as soon as this covid crap is over. I’ll be on the first plane. My previous one was a Mavic Pro, I’m coming back with a Mavic 2 Pro. I just hope mine turn out to be as good as yours.

Hi Ian… new to your channel and I am finding it very useful as I have not long upgraded to a Mavic Air 2 from a Phantom 3 Standard. I am learning so much from you so just wanted to say thanks… Ian from the Wirral.

  29. Ken P. on December 26, 2020 at 10:57 pm

Ian, if I were to bring a drone to the UK ( I am from the US) would I legally be able to fly it?
Would it depend on which drone it was say the mini versus the air 2?
How about in the rest of Europe any knowledge of those rules?

  30. Black Lablover on December 26, 2020 at 10:57 pm

What a great video and very helpful for someone such as I who is considering purchasing their 1st drone. Really evocative film at the end. Thank you very much and just to add very well present.

The fact the mini is under 250g and avoids restricting drone laws in most countries is a huge win.

  36. Superbracey on December 26, 2020 at 11:04 pm

On a rainy, windy day, I can’t help watching more of your reviews of something (MA2) I already own compared with something (MM) I used to own. As somebody who can only really justify owning one drone, the MA2 really does feel as though it sports the best qualities of my old Phantom 3 Pro (range, power, video quality) and my Mavic Mini (packaging, portability).

I just wish the weather would improve here because I take it everywhere with me.

  37. SLOPPY1001 on December 26, 2020 at 11:05 pm

  41. Steve DJI Mavic Pilot on December 26, 2020 at 11:08 pm

Ian once again you have pulled a great review out of the bag,
the cinematic footage is first class and your overall review
spot on, question while i was in Cumbria i used the Air2 but was a bit
disapointed with the result, so then did the same footage with
the DJI Mavic Mini and it won hands down, the settings were
in auto except for the Air2 in 4k hd and the Mini in 2.7 hd
but the differance was a mile apart, then took the Air2 to Windermere
and this time the Air footage was perfect i just don’t understaned,
any advice on that one Ian, oh forgot to ask which footage was from
Mini, bring on the next review.

  42. muzikmon2267 on December 26, 2020 at 11:10 pm

The variable aperture on the mavic 2 pro is very limited.

    You’ll still need ND filters.

And the hdr on the mavic Air 2 blows away any of the other DJI drones. It’s so good that lots of the time you don’t even need to do any post-processing

and with AB comparisons nobody could tell the difference between the mavic 2 pro and the mavic Air 2..

Most people actually think that the mavic Air 2 overall has better dynamic range and gets the pictures right more often than the mavic 2 pro..

  43. ed ton on December 26, 2020 at 11:10 pm

Loved the footage at the end,Love Scotland, for the last 15yrs have been going 3+ time a year but due to "Queen Nichola"’s attitude to the English its now off my list, shame really cos I have some great friends up there.

  44. marcandsebe on December 26, 2020 at 11:10 pm

I have the MP2 and MM. I just take both in my campervan. I have the Smart Controller for the MP2 and it’s super quick to put up. But the little MM is such a capable drone too.

  45. Mister Franz on December 26, 2020 at 11:12 pm

great, great , great, you do it fantastic.hopefully in future I wish you talk sometimes a bit slower. you speak sooooooooo fast. but all in general is great and I hope your make more videos in mini and air 2

  46. hayabusaTravels on December 26, 2020 at 11:12 pm

More important to me are the drone regulation laws, especially when traveling abroad. Of course, the drone stability is also important.
I held off buying a drone untill now, but I’m leaning towards the Mavic Mini.
Still, I’ll wait for next spring as traveling now it’s a bit tricky. Maybe we’ll get a improved Mini soon.
Rumors are that the new EU drone regulations will cause issues with flying the Mavic 2 as this drone isn’t compliant. The new EU drone regulations will get "activated" in 20121, maybe spring.
