Wow that’s a awesome story man. I’ve been hassled the same way but don’t have the resources and wear with all like u. I’m so glad I came across your story and glad you fixed it but u shouldn’t have had to go through all that nonsense. The police if they weren’t such neophytes to their own (park)rules and regulations could have saved themselves some respect. When you went to get your phone back was the best and the cop was just like pay the ticket and do what we say and none of this would have happened glad u exposed them. My wife always says don’t start any trouble keep your mouth shut. But I make a stink. Great job!! All drone owners should watch this !!! Thanks for all your time and effort and your great lawyer. Make sure u thank him for all of us. Wow

    You should be a lawyer

    Good for you! Awesome!

  5. Conventional Warrior on May 25, 2021 at 2:54 am

Those county folks are like democrats. Always whats to control the people and tell them how to live. Great job! New sub…!

  6. Mike autostudent on May 25, 2021 at 2:55 am

That did not stop almost banning every hobbyists to fly a drone except in very limited locations.

    What state is genesee county?

Congratulations on your quest to help a community of drone operators and enthusiasts. Furthermore, the capture and video recording of officers being foolish and disgruntled is what we all now find ourselves dealing with. That is a job that you just can’t afford to have a few bad apples because the consequences can be detrimental. Those officers took it personally and wanted to make a point by arresting you.

  9. Brian Janiszewski on May 25, 2021 at 3:12 am

The world needs more people like yourself. Please take care of yourself man and keep us up to date.

  10. Eric on May 25, 2021 at 3:13 am

First off, those officers should be fired, removed, and disgraced. But for the record, at least one of those locations (Thread Lake) is in Class C airspace. You do need Air Control authorization to fly there. Not sure where they are all located, it looks like most if not all of the rest are NE of controlled airspace. Either way, that is FAA jurisdiction. Clearly the actions of those rangers are making for a harassment case.

What is interesting to me is the fact it sounds like their efforts to create a ban on drones in parks has actually increased the use age of drones in their parks. The drone fly in events in parks was a brilliant idea. Keep the pressure on and keep the conversations professional and positive. Your hard work is paying off and the drone community appreciates your efforts to not only right a wrong, but to make it very public that others can emulate it in their back yards when necessary.

Where does the commission get all the money to keep plugging away at this silly battle? Is it coming from tax payers?

  15. Steven Bingham on May 25, 2021 at 3:25 am

Seems like these county officials are sore ass losers who just can’t admit that they lost. This is not how officials should be behaving!! From the police to the county officials, this young man stood up to them and won, FOR THE PEOPLE!! THIS is how America is suppose to be!!! However, I would have sued the Park Police for unlawful detainment!! Handcuffing him, the way they did, talking about taking him down to the station and releasing him there, and all the rest, was an abuse of power and violation of his rights. I’d sue their ass into oblivion. You don’t have to be black to have your rights violated and suffer from police misconduct!! This young man is a patriot, in my opinion.

  16. ID Travis Heinze v. Williston, North Dakota on May 25, 2021 at 3:26 am

Why dont they focus their arguments on the problems that they perceive drones cause for public enjoyment of the parks? Have drones caused injury?

  17. kool hand on May 25, 2021 at 3:28 am

Excellent Job!!! Thanks for protecting the Drone Community…

  18. Rafael Perez on May 25, 2021 at 3:30 am

That county is a joke 😂😂 their stupidity amazes me I would never live there.

  19. Dennis Forbes on May 25, 2021 at 3:32 am

Great job! I think maybe you missed your calling in the legal arena. Maybe make a career change to help fight the good fight for the Drone / RC community. It’s funny how the Government has forgotten who pays their wages. To treat citizens of the US this way is pretty horrible. Definitely not what I fought for.

  20. Layne Lin on May 25, 2021 at 3:32 am

Good job! You are a hero!

This is the problem with the legal system.
    Mumbo jumbo mumbo jumbo.
    Legal BS
    Legal mumbo-jumbo.
    Too much effing BS.
But keep at it I hope you win because I am also a drone Flyer.

  23. Porter Tim on May 25, 2021 at 3:40 am

Do you know if Silver Lake Sand Dunes has any issues with drones?

  24. Dokk-David Sr. on May 25, 2021 at 3:40 am

So will this force the Park rangers to stop being asshats? – Yeah, that’s asking a lot. Sorry.

  25. Alan Vranian on May 25, 2021 at 3:41 am

Well done! The rangers were lucky that you didn’t sue for improper behavior in detaining you.
