Army Drone Operators

Army Drone Operators

Not talking about the MOS 15W in the Army today. Rather a dedicated tactical level operator within a maneuver company or even platoon.

  3. David Sheffar on August 20, 2022 at 8:16 pm

Early on in my Army Career I remember I was at Fort Hood Texas and we seen one of these prototype drones look like something a 5 year old maid we’re just laughing about it and talking about how we could shoot it out of the sky easily but it’s amazing how much Drone technology has advanced since then God bless you Crain they are definitely like the Proving Ground for technology and drone usage very effective

Ukraine is making good use of their stockpile of anti tank grenades from the early 1950s. I’ve seen light armored vehicles and anti-aircraft vehicles taken out by these. Also seen people taken out by these. I thought about this as a kid using remote controlled vehicles back in 1991. It’s less appealing when you see two and perhaps three people kill at once

    It’s the future!
I’m surprised the military are only just seeing the effectiveness and capability of these small quadcopters in a battleground scenario.

  11. I’m wrong on August 20, 2022 at 8:23 pm

Do you realize we have robotic drone arrays that blanket a battle field with a drone grid of death for enemy tanks?

  12. tek413 on August 20, 2022 at 8:23 pm

I would think we are already working on that

  13. Alberto Garza on August 20, 2022 at 8:25 pm

  15. Tom D on August 20, 2022 at 8:28 pm

I have seen way too many videos of Russians, Russians backed rebels, and Ukrainians dying to these since like 2016….

  16. cyber warlord on August 20, 2022 at 8:28 pm

I have a job planting trees with a drone, others kill people. We are not the same.

  18. william felix Bradley on August 20, 2022 at 8:32 pm

Years ago i theorised that the next (special military op) would be drones shooting other drones.
Drones flying top cover, dive-bombers drones, strategic bombing drones, drones parachuting robots onto bridges… did i miss something?
Uh oh. What if they become so small you need a fly-swatter. Or the size of a virus?

Raf already have a unit. Was on a course as structural engineering surveyor learning how to fly and utilise these things along side a dozen raf officers. They aren’t arming them yet due to uk rules of engagement. But they were practicing high altitude deployment. My team were aiming for earthquake relief surveyors but those guys were not

I think it’s going to become apparent; the best way to counter a drone. Will be with another drone

  32. tremain pryor on August 20, 2022 at 8:49 pm

Yes the new generation fighters can’t wait to see how they turn up

  33. Wet Nap on August 20, 2022 at 8:49 pm

We live in a time where we have unmanned vehicles going out and doing hits on people. Theyy aren’t. Going to need an MOS for this. I would assume they’d used small arms repair or something similar. These. Drones are low maintenance and cheap. Theyy could honestly just. Make it part of standard training in basic. Think of Tesla autodrive feature but for the drones. Using AI and gps. You could call in close air support with pinpoint accuracy and minimal collateral damage.
I don’t know shit but this just a thought.
This just. Gaveme an idea for a drone that’s got your back. In a firefight. Used for law enforcement and military operations. This drone not only assists you but obviously gets it all on video. This drone would have hella features amd capabilities. So many ideas. No way of knowing how to produce them so someone who is better than me can have them and make use of them

  34. AntiLarge on August 20, 2022 at 8:50 pm

It would be just added to the Infantry squad.

  35. David on August 20, 2022 at 8:51 pm

Not likely Limited range, weather limits, easy to detect, easy to jam, easy to kinetic kill.

  36. david.v on August 20, 2022 at 8:52 pm

Maybe thousands of people would consider it if they pay is good but like this wouldn’t be hard to handle either

  37. Mussolini Respecter on August 20, 2022 at 8:53 pm

More pencil pushing zogbots. Just what we need… kill the killers and invade invaders. America is declining

  38. steve tarrant on August 20, 2022 at 8:53 pm

They would be good in the tropics. Everyone would just think the sound was mosquito’s.

  39. TheSVgregor on August 20, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Combat MOS, sure! University of Harrisburg (PA) has a degree in drone driving. Way cool!

  40. will b on August 20, 2022 at 8:55 pm

That’s the plan. To take over with thousands in a swarm. 😳

  41. Dan Flores on August 20, 2022 at 8:57 pm

This armed drone capability could be used by a wide range of sections/ MOS assets; reconnaissance, mortar/artillery, forward observer, engineer (obstacles) etc.

There will be a new drone MOS or identifier.

  42. Dustin C Link on August 20, 2022 at 9:01 pm

Just remember, if they have the capacity to do it to them, they will eventually do it to us.

    You reap what you sow.

  46. Douglas Price on August 20, 2022 at 9:06 pm

  47. Dare ka on August 20, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Just slap pieces of metal slats over your tanks and tents. At the very least the world will laugh at how silly your tanks will look.

  48. Honey locust Lavender on August 20, 2022 at 9:09 pm

    They already do

  49. Eroll Zaño on August 20, 2022 at 9:12 pm
