Advanced AI drones being used by police agencies

California-based tech startup Skydio has developed an advanced AI drone that can pilot itself and avoid obstacles. They have already been added to over 20 U.S. police agencies’ drone fleets. Forbes associate editor Thomas Brewster joins CBSN AM to discuss.

If you make a city full of the latest modern tech, me and many others would move there right away.😎👍

  9. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 8:53 pm

If law enforcement drones and robots are always monitoring everything everywhere all the time they could react immediately to any crimes criminals or emergencies.

  10. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Haters just keep erasing my posts. You afraid of peoples reactions? Why? I talk about this stuff ALOT with people. Most people like and love this idea.

Line of site surely is broken while a drone is flying its self far and caa will have something to say about the police use of drones I think or should if its not all one sided

  12. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 8:57 pm

I’m highly considering moving to anywhere that has drones for security.

  13. Jamar Handy on September 14, 2022 at 8:58 pm

I think that citizens have to watch out because that’s pure power at its finest spying, and a huge huge invasion of privacy and profiling and it will drive a person crazy that’s being followed that’s doing nothing at all,, I deal with this on a nightly basis ,, they dont need a warrant

  14. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 8:59 pm

The video should be used. It’s pure evidence that can be analyzed from multiple views.

SWAT teams use drones to see inside homes before entering to make sure they are clear of any other people to assure the safety of their soldiers. I don’t know what technology is used, but I know they have it. We know police agencies have no oversight, no accountability and are protected by powerful lobbies, like the NRA and their Police Unions. It’s frightening to think how much power these untrained, uneducated, steroid fueled thugs have at their disposal.

I don’t fear the US Military turning on me, I fear the military in my midst.

  17. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:02 pm

Fearful people are holding us back from law enforcement drone use and other modern technologies use. But using what we already have would help humanity greatly. The good side.

  18. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:02 pm

Law enforcement drones would have evidence available for every incident. 👍👍👍👍👍🍾🥂

  19. Ann Seven on September 14, 2022 at 9:02 pm

So, are these cop drones electronically armed? If so, what’s to stop it from targeting civilians by mistake the way that they’ve repeatedly done in the mideast?

Also, don’t forget the Havana Syndrome attacks, which also happened on US soil. How easy would it be to arm police drones with Directed Energy Weapons? If you do a site search for this weapon on the Dept. of Justice website, you’ll see that cops already use them on their beats.

  20. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:03 pm

You may think AI is just a robot, but they are deeply thinking beings we made. Treat them with care and respect. As you would a human being.

This is real it is Now! and I find it Un Nerving!

  24. Wide Awake on September 14, 2022 at 9:07 pm

I see them as invasion of privacy. From the air no one can give consent. I’ve already heard reports of people seeing them outside their windows. They r pretty much a free for all toy for creeping toms, pedophiles and corrupt cops. AI can b very dangerous as its capable of creating a mind of its own turning against humans good or bad.

  25. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:09 pm

We need to have hundreds of thousands of law enforcement drones and robots or more. Probably more. All over America. They could react to crimes criminals and emergencies.

  26. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Yes. They are amazing and would help us guard and clean up America and our borders in a shorter amount of time.

  27. J on September 14, 2022 at 9:09 pm

I control the planet through a fleet of AI drones which are under my control these have laser pulse weapons on them which are capable of the intensity of the Sun these have a capability of going through laser pulse rockets which can blow hole through a granite 6 mi thick come out the other side the AI generated drones are capable of telescopic we can see from 5 miles out has binocular capability official technology and it has stealth capability

  29. elimba78 on September 14, 2022 at 9:15 pm

They are coming out with A.I bug drones, like dragonfly drones and such to spy and record videos and listen in on you……

  30. Ann Seven on September 14, 2022 at 9:16 pm

What law is there to prevent cops from misusing drones to stalk citizens whom they dislike? There have already been past incidents of police using other technologies to surveil and stalk people just in case they commit a crime. We certainly don’t need to make their corrupt behavior easier by giving them spy drones. 👀

  31. Joe Varga on September 14, 2022 at 9:18 pm

A lot of the cases using info. gathered from these drones will be tossed out of court for lack of a warrant.

  32. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:19 pm

When we have the answers to all our issues and we don’t use it, that’s messed up. And very frustrating to know we don’t have to suffer the ways we do it any other ways.

  33. J H on September 14, 2022 at 9:21 pm

Pretty soon picking your nose will be a $500 fine if we don’t put it into this crap or a month in jail and if you do not comply we will throw away the key and send you to a prison to work in the prison industry

  34. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:22 pm

But they are and will be highly useful.

  35. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:23 pm

With the tech we have today, we could have super security, no more money needed, and everything we would ever want. Why does the government want bad things to happen?

  36. derek fay on September 14, 2022 at 9:24 pm

Someone should warn the police that eventually a warrant is still going to be required even though AI is an entity is still built and designed by people with a specific use so that is just a tool built by a person to accomplish the same purpose. Having these things Chase people around without probable cause it’s going to get these guys in trouble

  37. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:24 pm

It’s like watching a 3 year old with the answer to their problem in their hands. It’s right there. Just use it correctly.

  38. Michael on September 14, 2022 at 9:27 pm

THIS is why they need to be defunded.. not because we don’t need more police, but because of this

  39. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:28 pm

I’d love to live in a world where all of humanities wants and needs are all met using mostly modern tech. Super security in many ways and from many angles at the same time.

  40. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:29 pm

Set up fail safes inside the drone that can be activated by law enforcement, if the drone malfunctions.

  46. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:34 pm

Law enforcement drones could charge on top of all or most poles and buildings. Have a thick bullet proof glass cover for while they are charging so they are protected from weather and criminals.

  47. Jose Reyes on September 14, 2022 at 9:35 pm

All of this Spyware used by government and companies should be EVERYONES CONCERN.

  48. Al Simensen on September 14, 2022 at 9:37 pm

Sending the police video footage of the person who stole your package from your porch is a problem, exactly how?

  49. Graham Walkingshaw on September 14, 2022 at 9:37 pm

So we aren’t allowed to fly ours but there’s is allowed to fly themselves?

  50. Casey Ford on September 14, 2022 at 9:38 pm
