A.I. Is Making it Easier to Kill (You). Here’s How. | NYT

A tank that drives itself. A drone that picks its own targets. A machine gun with facial recognition software. Sounds like science fiction? A.I. fueled weapons are already here.

The ONLY way robots can win is to wipe out ALL humans. PERIOD.

Everything can be used for good and bad it’s up to us to use it for good.

I saw it as the monkeys paw, you get what you wished for, but not on the way you wanted. Like when the mother wanted to see her son, who died in an accident, one more time.

Paul seems to have a solid grip on this topic. I’m honestly really glad there’s people like him looking out for us.

The world’s biggest threats are uncontrolled AI and if that doesn’t destroy us the globalist are trying real hard right now it is dangerous and inhumane to give life and death choice to something autonomous like many scientists it will deduce that humans are the world’s biggest problem and it will seek to eliminate us it’s almost as if you don’t realize what you are doing as you realize what you said doing it’s crazy it’s dangerous and it will be the end of humanity 💯

Thank you for this. I’ve been struggling to NOT be terrified at the prospect of our governments turning to communism/globalization/totalitarianism… whatever TF it is. And NO ONE NOTICING!! So I am hugely encouraged by your video…because it puts words & makes sense of my dreams;(nightmares).. & my fears aren’t just rantings of an ocd paranoid crazy over active brain!! I am happy that there’s other people who have the same insight, etc & it’s validated my feelings❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

So the next world war can only be won by the country that is capable of producing more technologies than other countries

  10. Kevin Zachary Walker on April 23, 2021 at 1:52 am

The deathly force of robots isn’t even the worst part, rather then at a regular war at some point a group of soldiers or even a whole nation would give up if the damage reaches a certain point and the ongoing fight doesn’t seem getting you anywhere. Now if you send robots and some of them get somehow destroyed, more can be send to the battlefield and with drones and flight robots sooner even quicker war robots can arrive at war places, so that there will be no end of war unless the other countries are fully destroyed or taken over.

The best is to pray that a hot war like in the world war or as closely as big won’t happen again, because even if nuclear weapons aren’t used the robot’s will do tremendous killings and damages and a few leaders won’t care for those of the majority (civilians especially) suffers the most.

  15. Indrid Cold on April 23, 2021 at 1:59 am

I hate to say it, but it is, in fact, a moot point, at this point.

Due to the fact that these fully autonomous, individual-human-targeting death machines don’t even exist yet…The only way to legislate the issue is in binary, by
Attempting to outlaw ALL fully autonomous, potentially deadly technology. This will never happen, for three very simple reasons:
    1. Missile defense systems. They don’t do much good unless they’re fully autonomous.
    2. The weapons they’re worried about don’t exist yet. Yes, targeting specific algorithms, like facial recognition and object recognition are being developed and improved by every sovereign nation, and for many reasons…But: The swarms of dragonfly sized, kamikaze head-shot drones depicted in that dude‘s Black Mirror episode/Fear-Mongering Infomercial, well, they aren’t even on the drawing board.
    3. Just as with nuclear weapons, So long as there is ANY possibility that even ONE nation will ignore all ‘rules’ of warfare (ahem, cough cough: Russia, North Korea, China, and basically the entire Warsaw pact) then…ALL other nations must assume the worst, and prepare for it accordingly.

Sorry, but a complete ban is wishful thinking at best, and since history repeats itself, we could never count on, nor trust that ANY amount of legislation would actually be upheld by ALL assigned nations✌🏻

You invited the AI into your bedroom and you’re wondering that it points it’s gun to your head and pulls the trigger! HA HA! Foolish humans, robots win again.

  21. Alexander Paideia on April 23, 2021 at 2:10 am

Make no mistake, such an incredible achievement. Yet, a very very expensive rich man toy. This is a mechanical robot, none human, designed, controlled by, and serve the owner’s needs and ambitious intention. Nothing intelligent or humane about this or other lifeless dead machines, but electronically; at best, like many practical devices, applications to make our life and works more easy and convenient. Not to expect any true human feeling, compassion, love, nor romance. Very best wish, altc, Paideia Academy

Can technology make war "safer"? Safer for whom!?

  27. Curtis Carpenter on April 23, 2021 at 2:15 am

I hope automation decreases civilian casualties or reduces the risk.🤯🤯

  28. Nickolay on April 23, 2021 at 2:15 am

Mankind shouldn’t "toy" wars, that would make countries even more trigger-happy. The very risk to life is what deters a lot of conflicts. Dumb, selfish and impulsive decisions have been made in history but making war more robotized would end up in a disaster regardless if it would be the machines turning against their creators or simply us taking wars with less concern.

  29. Wait What on April 23, 2021 at 2:16 am

at this point I am sure people in Afghanistan and Iraq would prefer a short but brutal war like ww2 than long drawn out decades lasting wars where multiple generations are born in deadly places, and if robots make wars end faster so be it, look at Armenia Azerbaijan war, if it was a human only war it would have lasted years but since Azerbaijan had way more drones they won quickly and now major hostilities between two countries has seized

  30. Leo Zendo on April 23, 2021 at 2:17 am

Come on, there’s always been a threat of doomsday, nuclear war in the 80’s , y2k in the 90’s , terrorists attacks 2000’s , 2012 mayan predictions, 2010’s cosmic threats , 2020’s A I. it’s always something that paralyzes people and that’s what they want , it’s fear mongering.

  49. Stand for justice on April 23, 2021 at 2:38 am

At 11:30 the guy said they wouldn’t shoot that girl??? Fast forward…. nato is now convicted of war crime for killing innocent unarmed civilians indiscriminately in Afghanistan. That younger guy in the video sure knows how to talk big and justice whereas the nation he serves is the root cause of so so so many of the injustices around the globe. Even recently the australian media uncovered the deliberate killing of innocent unarmed civilians which is clearly war crime.
NYT please tell that ignorant fellow of the war crimes of nato, so that he may show some shame when tries to brag about ONCE not shooting a young girl. By the way recent records did show that innocent unarmed (having absolutely nothing to do with the war) people were gunned down by the nato in Afghanistan.
