8K DRONE – Autel EVO 2

Autel enters 2020 with a bang!!! The new EVOII packs a punch with a 1/2″ CMOS sensor, boasting an 8K camera and 48 megapixel still image capabilities. If 8k wasn’t enough, you are now able to swap out the camera with a 1″ sensor camera or Dual Camera+FLIR combo, both coming soon. I was able to get my hands on this new beast and it’s rock solid so far. In this video I walk you through some of the features, size comparisons and quick flight tests. More side by side comparisons with the EVO I and DJI Mavic 2 Pro coming to the channel soon after CES.

I dunno but it looks like a Mavic killer. I have a MAvic Pro and a Anafi. I never saw any reason to get the Mavic II . Or MAvic AIr(Gimme a break)

Watching this made me realize FlyPath lives right next to me XD

  3. Herbert Zhu on October 13, 2020 at 12:02 pm

From the side view comparison, the Autel EVO’s build quality seems not as good as Mavic.

  4. UpliFT-RC on October 13, 2020 at 12:02 pm

The price is almost the same as Mavic 2 pro, but it seems Evo2 still has a lot of unfixed problems going on for me.. Plus, Autel’s EVO 2 48 meg a pixels are very difficult to edit in adobe lightroom and i have noticed some problems with the horizon tilt when flying one around a properties when filming. Plus, I feel the remote is a bit jerky sort of speak ad the yaw is just not as smooth as any of the the Mavic lines!! Excellent review but i Like my MP2 a lot better!

  5. 앤디KIM STAR on October 13, 2020 at 12:02 pm

Hi Flypath, I have EVO2 but how can play the video with hyperlaps or timelaps I found menu of timelaps but only take a pictures second many many pictures no have video .

  11. XTRWLT on October 13, 2020 at 12:08 pm

    I don’t see a diffrent, between Marvic Pro 2 and Evo2.

  12. Douglas Strain on October 13, 2020 at 12:08 pm

Does this have audio with video ability like the Yuneec? Does it ground positioning when GPS is lost like the DJI aircraft?

  13. Cluster Studios on October 13, 2020 at 12:08 pm

DJI lens is much better at all resolutions. 4k DJI image is much better than the 8k EVO. Lens quality is the most important factor in image quality. EVO should partner with Zeiss or some other name lens manufacture to improve its lens design. What’s the point of 8k , if it’s mush. I’ll stick with the Mavic for now. Too bad. I was GAS’n for this one. Looks cool too and the interchangeable camera is a plus.

    Hi there
I am really inspired by your drone review video.
I have been piloting drone since 3 to 4 years and I had several drones. But for two years I have been piloting Parrot Bebob 2. I really don’t like apple products because of overpriced.
Now I am planning to buy another one with 4K footage. Could you please guide me which is the best under $1000.00/=
You can check my drone footage below.

  23. Sean D on October 13, 2020 at 12:21 pm

Can you do a night video comparison between the 8k and the Pro please?

  24. SemteXDealer on October 13, 2020 at 12:22 pm

I love watching how excited these drone reviewers get when opening a new drone. I actually feel the excitement myself

  25. Sean D on October 13, 2020 at 12:22 pm

With some computers not being powerful enough to handle 8k video (or even 6k video), like mine cant, I just want to confirm that I can take the Evo 8k and downgrade it to 4k, or even 1080, while i’m shooting video, correct?

  26. Tony Lai on October 13, 2020 at 12:24 pm

please let me know what company did you order your evo 2 drone from?
i ordered mine from adorama since February and it still not ship yet

  27. Antonio Bento on October 13, 2020 at 12:24 pm

Where I can buy it ?

  28. Legionmartin on October 13, 2020 at 12:26 pm

There is a danger that the Chinese government could be using DJI drones sold in the United States to spy on us. The US military has also banned the use of DJI drones. This is the reason why I personally am interested in the Autel Evo II.

  29. Joe Kelly on October 13, 2020 at 12:27 pm

Mavic 2 Pro at least the equal, if not still better by the looks of it. Did you shoot on manual or auto settings? Evo seemed sticky like it had a very high shutter speed in the comparison while the mavic looks smooth/normal.

  30. Jim isF on October 13, 2020 at 12:28 pm

Thanks for helping me transfer from Yuneec to a real drone bro! Those pics you took are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🏼😎 iG @picsmiths

I owned the Autel Evo II Pro for two weeks before it crashed on its own catastrophically. I am a seasoned pilot with at least 50 hours flying time with DJI drones and about 4-5 hours with this particular drone. From the beginning the drone didn’t live up to a single standard that the company claims. The 45mph speed is (in my experience under multiple calm conditions) unachievable. The 9km distance they tout, is absolutely false…the best I ever did under optimum conditions in an open field without obstacles was about 4,500-5,000 feet (1.5km). The drone is relatively unstable in flying, I read one comment from a very prominent drone pilot that states it flies like a brick…it does. As much as I don’t like DJI’s practices and money-grubbing, their drones are the best. I should’ve never switched. Autel had attractive features and no geo-fencing. After my drone disconnected at less than 2,000 feet in a loosely dense urban area with no buildings exceeding 15 floors or so, it proceeded to return to home and fly directly into a building. I have video from the incident as well as a screen shot before it crashed showing the ambient light was quite sufficient. The ambient light in (this downtown) was sufficient enough to see a building several blocks away in the background and recognize which one it was. DO NOT BUY THESE DRONES! Do some research and despite their claims they’re all false. The battery that came with the drone along with the additional one I purchased are rated at 40 minutes flight time. I understand this is under optimal conditions, but never did either come close to that figure upon turning on the drone with a fresh full charge…it was more like 33-34 minutes (stated on the remote app) and even then it was overstated while flying at 22mph with winds at less than 2-4mph. If you want a further honest review of the drone please visit my page.

  33. Ray Diaz on October 13, 2020 at 12:34 pm

I agree the Mavic has a better picture/ video in my opinion! Mavics colors, clarity, and depth pop compared to the EVO!

  34. iShootNiceCars on October 13, 2020 at 12:36 pm

Is the EVO II restricted by Geo Fencing like the DJI drones? thanks.

  35. buddy morgan on October 13, 2020 at 12:43 pm

I enjoy your reviews, now the EVO II drifting to the left and when shooting a video the front left proppeller shows on your video. Autel needs to address this problem plus way over priced.

  36. Abdullah Harris on October 13, 2020 at 12:47 pm

    I just bought one!!!

  37. Brian Thibault on October 13, 2020 at 12:47 pm

The advantage to a glossy finish on the Evo is that if it gets lost in a forest, its more likely to reflect light and make it easier to locate.

  38. Сокровище ищет сокровища on October 13, 2020 at 12:47 pm

Thank you! Help me please to find USER MANUAL (Instruction) ti this dron. I have bought Autel Eva 2 and do not know how to use it. Help me please.

  39. JustusLM on October 13, 2020 at 12:47 pm

11:05 Actually, the Mavic 2 Pro shoots images in 5472×3648, using the entire sensor, which is a 3:2 image ratio and has more pixels in every direction than you claim in the video.

  40. Yogansh Bhalla on October 13, 2020 at 12:49 pm

Its so stable….it doesnt even move.

  41. Tony Holmes on October 13, 2020 at 12:50 pm

  42. Adam Strix on October 13, 2020 at 12:51 pm

  43. mohsen zamani on October 13, 2020 at 12:52 pm

Hello I’m living in Iran!!!!!??? Do you have any giveaway cameras….?????? Thank you for your goodness….

  44. basspig on October 13, 2020 at 12:53 pm

The Mavic II always produced an inferior picture to the Phantom 4 Pro, but this Autel makes the Mavic look good.

  45. Cléuson Araújo on October 13, 2020 at 12:54 pm

Mavic 2 tem as imagens melhor.

  46. super Snyder on October 13, 2020 at 12:54 pm

  47. Chris Santucci on October 13, 2020 at 12:56 pm

  48. Jeremy Clark on October 13, 2020 at 12:56 pm

Can anyone tell me if the autel evo 2 is able to shoot 360 panorama photos automatically?

  49. Seattle Wa on October 13, 2020 at 12:57 pm

I bought an Autel X Star a couple years back because it seemed similar to DJI but was a little cheaper. BIG MISTAKE. Autel is a small company that doesn’t support their product line. They discontinued the battery after they came out with their new drone line. If they come out with a new version and your Autel drone battery dies might as well through the drone in the garbage. Meanwhile you can get DJI replacement batteries on the after market.

  50. Eric P on October 13, 2020 at 12:59 pm

Seeing this comparison is so encouraging for the future of this industry. Things will only get better for us consumers! The Evo2’s swappable camera is a huge plus for me along with Autel’s amazing intelligent flight features. Then again the Mavic Air 2 is cheaper and seems to yield naturally crisper footage than the 8k camera (or maybe I don’t have the sensory capacity to enjoy 8k?). As a footnote, super happy someone else shares my misgivings about the Evo glossy plastic. Purely an aesthetic issue for me but still one that bothers me.
