360 Degree VR Video from FPV Race Drone Xiaomi Mi Sphere

Still getting used to flying with this camera mounted on the drone, it has a tendency to catch the wind a bit. Still, the resulting footage is pretty cool 🙂

This is a raw clip taken from the camera and stitched with an early version of their desktop software. Still improvements to be made, but Xiaomi is all over this thing and is pushing out new features and updates almost weekly! Camera can do 3.5k resolution at 30FPS, but this video was 2304×1152 at 60FPS, so it’s a little lower quality.

Hi there, I am thinking of mounting my MiSphere on the exterior of my drift car next weekend. As you said, the shape of the camera lends itself to acting like a bit of a sail, did you add any extra supports to hold the camera or stop it from rotating? I am a little worried that between the wind coming in from an angle and the vibration of the car, it could work itself off the thread.

    Thanks!
