    Hello from Alaska 👋🏻

A few questions how many questions are on the test and how many do you have to get correct to pass?

  2. Lily Metcalfe on December 9, 2021 at 11:07 am

Do you have a link to the online practice test?

  3. adventurepantsmcgee on December 9, 2021 at 11:13 am

Thanks for the tips! I’m nervous too, but I feel a lot better watching this. 💚

#1 If your remote id check fails upon takeoff, what will happen:
    1. Your aircraft won’t take off
    2. It will affect performance of aircraft
    3. You shouldn’t be flying it if you’re not in an FAA approved area (Correct answer)
#2 Study Sectional Charts. They’re easy if you know how to use the provided legend.
#3 Process of elimination is very helpful
#4 Use the "Bookmark" feature to refer back to questions you’re not 100% of

Good tips. I’d like to add a few for the listeners. 1. There’s no need to take any expensive courses. These programs are good, but there are really good FREE and low-cost resources out there. 2. You can go to the FAA website and download FREE training materials. I passed my exam with a 92% by watching a few videos on aviation weather and VFR charts. Then used a GooglePlay app UAS107(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uas107.openrobotix.labs), studied for two weeks, the total cost for me was $155 ($150 for the exam $5 for the app).

Just wanted to thank you brother I am taking the test in one hour and 16 minutes!

Thanks for the tips. I’m going to give this test a shot in the next week or two and will definitely try to find some good references on the recent changes. BTW – I looked up what happens when a drone equipped with remote id fails its self test and the correct answer is it is prevented from taking off.

"In preparation for enforcing that tracking mandate, the new rule also requires that within eighteen (18) months, all UA produced for operation in US airspace must have built-in remote identification that can’t be disabled by the user and which prevents the drone from taking off if the remote ID unit fails a self-test. Older models will need to be retrofitted with a remote identification broadcast module in order to be flown anywhere other than in FAA-recognized identification areas."

    Yup— UPDATE Sept 2021:
Most of THIS TEST, is ALL ABOUT CLASSes of Airspaces. A ridiculous amount.! WHY? IDK. Some frequencies -ATIS (what is a ‘C’ on the chart).? Terrain clearance and THEN? ► what Class AIRSPACE are you in.?> AIRSPACE! Learn the details.!!! The real ‘DRONE’ questions→ are easily handled. Good luck!

Congrats. Now you can fly a drone on Mars.

Congrats! I knew you would pass

  14. Joe Kokinda on December 9, 2021 at 11:42 am

It’s extremely sad that you have to take a class, to fly an effing drone!!

  15. xr680r on December 9, 2021 at 11:42 am

Cool, where and how was the test.

  16. Kenny Ross on December 9, 2021 at 11:43 am

Do you think a course is worth it? Just curious to get your opinion. I’m thinking of taking one.

  17. Biden Supporter on December 9, 2021 at 11:44 am

What do they charge to take the test

  18. Digimatic life on December 9, 2021 at 11:45 am

Congrats on passing! Thanks for the update on the new questions, I’m taking my test in a few days.

  19. Will O on December 9, 2021 at 11:48 am

Ha ha- good thing they weren’t requiring you to do your own percentages as you apparently don’t realize that you said, “52 out of sixty is still passing”…That’s the score you made—86.666666! Congrats on passing along some of the new items to study. Safe flying!

  20. JustinCo on December 9, 2021 at 11:50 am

Haha I did the same thing at the end. Test felt much more uneasy than I expected to, but did fine. Felt better after I went back through marking what I felt good about. Great tips!

  21. Blake Johnson on December 9, 2021 at 11:53 am

Anything on nighttime waivers or flying over people?

  22. Dalyon Waldner on December 9, 2021 at 11:55 am

Do you have to take the 107 in order to make profit off of taking photos for realtors? I’m assuming so but I’m completely new to drones and I want to start a side hustle with drones.
