Thank you for these tips. I feel like many beginners to drone videography (not unlike myself a few months ago) can be easily caught up in the excitement and cannot resist taking their drones to full speed in sport mode immediately. Whereas in fact the best shots are usually taken at slow speeds with slow and steady movements instead.

  25. chris brewer on August 16, 2020 at 9:51 am

i just recently shot a beautiful waterfall, got home and realized I actually forgot to stop recording on my previous flight and then when I hit record for the waterfall I actually stopped recording. Def a good tip to be aware of when you are recording or not.

  30. Steve Hollar on August 16, 2020 at 10:01 am

I just recently started learning to fly drones at age 70. I’ve always been very active with hiking and doing heavy physical labor. Unfortunately my kidneys failed and I’m now on dialysis. I’ve done a lot of photography so drone flying and making videos seems really right to me. Very intrigued with this video and anxious to use the tips to take this to a whole new level. Thanks for the tips.

  36. dee macha on August 16, 2020 at 10:10 am

love your tutorials. Being a new droner and watching many of your tutorials has helped me immensely. my problem is the area in which I live, we don’t have pretty landscapes i.e., forests, lakes, rivers, mountains and such so I am constantly on the look out for something that stands out such as an old house, windmills, trains. We do have beautiful sunsets that make awesome backdrops. I hope to have a couple projects finished soon and look forward to you critiquing them for me.

  37. Mountain Mike on August 16, 2020 at 10:10 am

I’m glad I do most of these. I need to get better with color correction and exposure, though. I also tend to ignore battery warnings when over land.

  38. Andrew Dick Richards on August 16, 2020 at 10:10 am

What a fantastic set of tips. Love the idea of starting at the end, and reversing the clip in post editing.

  39. christopher leslie on August 16, 2020 at 10:11 am

just like to understand your last comment a bit more re updating your drone info straight away
saying its not always a good idea
    please more info thanks

  41. Mark Dyer on August 16, 2020 at 10:16 am

Just getting started with drone film making and thank you for these really great tips. When I watch movies now, you take the "magic" out of the movie, because I can just imagine the simplicity behind the great aerial footage used in the movie. Thank you for helping all of us create that same magic on our own!!

  42. Audio Adventurer on August 16, 2020 at 10:17 am

Great tips! For me, as a new pilot with a ton of prior experience in still photography and videography, the most important tip you gave me here was "battery life is a prescious resource." So true. I hope to never waste a moment of flight and I’m sure I would have had I not heard this first. Thank you.

  43. Oscar Torres on August 16, 2020 at 10:17 am

  48. tzur lisbona on August 16, 2020 at 10:20 am

a very good guide. thank you. i have learned a lot.
a remark though: my country, as you have mentioned, is one of the sunniest ones. for me, most Times glare can be a problem. its nice in clouds and low sun, but can be bad in daily shots.
